How to check if my cellphone is unlocked?
I have a TMobile Samsung Quadband phone, Was travelling to India so T mobile sent me an unlock code. I followed the procedure and it said lock deactivated.... My problem is that when I inserted the Indian sim card of my dad who is visiting from india, the phone just gives two messages "welcome to T mobile" and shows the make and model number. It does not allow any other acess on the phone. Do you think this phone is unlocked and will it work in India.

- First off you should check whether the phone really is unlocked, by inserting a different provider's sim or another foreign one. You should also however, and more importantly, check on how many bands your phone works on - this means that you'll be able to tell in which parts of the world your phone works in: there's a dual-band for Europe, a tri-band might even work in the states and anything higher will work just about anywhere!
